Our Story

The idea for Prayers4you was conceived in March 2022 on a park bench at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. At the time, COVID-19 was rampant, and strict hospital protocols prevented anyone other than immediate family from visiting patients. I had gone to the hospital to support a close friend (longtime hunting and fishing buddy) who had been recently placed on a ventilator.

My friend, also named David, was the leader of my Men’s Bible study group. He was a strong man of great faith and definitely impacted the lives of those who knew him well. Although he was a traditionally "masculine" man who rarely asked for help, he reached out to tell us he was lonely and scared and certainly no fan of the ventilator! I felt a clear calling to visit him, so I left work immediately to pray with him and ensure he knew he wasn't alone. Unfortunately, I was denied access to the ICU floor.

As I sat outside the hospital, I felt deeply frustrated that I couldn't communicate with my friend when it mattered most. While he was physically unable to text, he could still hear voices and receive encouragement. Tragically, David never recovered and passed away a few days later.

Determined to ensure others wouldn't face this same isolation, a close group of friends and I have spent the last two years developing Prayers4you. Our goal is to provide a simple, easy-to-use platform  that notifies you immediately that someone is there for you and praying for you when you need it most. Our sole mission is to facilitate prayer and change lives for God's glory.
